Cajuru Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (PCH) is installed on Pará River, in the municipalities of “Carmo do Cajuru” and “Divinópolis”, state of Minas Gerais, and has a generating unit of 7.2 MW. The right bank is located in “Carmo do Cajuru” and the left bank is located in “Divinópolis”. This dam was designed with the main purpose of storing water for the regular functioning of “Gafanhoto” Hydroelectric Plant, located downstream. The reservoir has an area of 23.27 km².
Cajuru SHP Dam is composed of the following structures: Right Bank Concrete Dam, Surface Spillway with Controlled Sill, Left Bank Concrete Dam and Left Bank Earth Dam.
