Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais – Cemig recognizes its responsibility with the protection of Personal Data of citizens who use its services, values and respects the privacy of its employees, service providers, customers, suppliers, partners and understands that the use of personal data must be used responsibly and in compliance with the current Brazilian legislation, mainly ANEEL Normative Resolution No. 414/2010, of September 9, 2010, which regulates the supply of electricity and Law 13.709 / 2018 – General Protection Law of Data – LGPD.

Cemig’s duty is to guarantee the integrity in the treatment of this information, fulfilling the expectation of ensuring the security of your data and cherishing the purpose of continuing to live this unique and satisfying experience for many years with you.

Cemig monitors users whose customer data is utilized for secondary purposes. There are no customers whose data has been used for commercial purposes.

Cemig shares customer payment history data in compliance with The Positive Credit Registry Law (Law Nº 12,414/2011 and its implementing Decree Nº 9,936/2019 – The Positive Credit Registry Decree); in other words, this is a legal obligation. Periodic meetings are conducted to assess whether there are any issues with the files submitted. These files are transmitted by our IT team using a specific layout defined in a formal agreement. The Database Managers are the Brazilian companies that receive the data (such as SPC and SERASA).

Violation of the Data Privacy Policy is subject to the application of disciplinary measures compatible with the seriousness of the incident, which may range from verbal or written warning, suspension or more serious sanctions, such as: dismissal for cause; termination of the employment or service provision contract, partnership agreements, among others, as provided for in the Code of Conduct of CEMIG.

Cemig conducts internal audit to verify compliance with privacy and data protection policy and procedures.

In addition to this, Cemig conducted third-party audit to verify compliance with privacy and data protection policy and procedures by the privacy and data protection specialized company Opice Blum Bruno Advogados Associados in 2024.
