Cemig\u2019s Consumer Council was created in 1994<\/strong>, in accordance with Article 13 of Law No. 8,631 of March 4, 1993<\/a>, and DNAEE Ordinance No. 519 of June 1, 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its objective is to represent the collective interests of the population and promote<\/strong> their defense. In addition, it assists with oversight and submits complaints and reports<\/strong> to Cemig, and is based on the general conditions for the supply of electric power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Representatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cemig\u2019s Council is composed of five full members and five alternate members<\/strong>, appointed by representative organizations of consumer classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term of office for each member is four years<\/strong> and may be renewed through nomination by their respective representative organization. The Chair and Vice Chair are elected by the members of the council<\/strong>, with a two-year term of office<\/strong> and the possibility of re-election for one additional term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
