In order to celebrate Environment Day, which takes place all over the world on June 5, we have been holding Environment Week since 1998. With different subjects each year, the main purpose of the initiative is to raise awareness about the care and preservation of nature, as well as the importance of environment for us and our life experiences. For all of us at Cemig, environmental quality is one of the principles that govern all our activities. And we know that this attitude is reflected in the preparation and execution of socio-environmental programs, which go beyond compliance with the laws and regulations of competent bodies and they confirm our commitment to environmental issues. In our Environment Weeks, we approach several subjects, always directed to sustainability, environmental preservation, fauna, flora, rivers, seas and the activities of man in the environment as a whole. Through activities, lectures and actions, we talk to our employees and collaborators about the conscious use of natural resources, emphasizing the importance of caring for our greatest asset: nature and everything that surrounds it.
