CEMIG Project at the APACs

Action: Aiming at reducing consumption and average peak demand through efficiency of equipment and awareness of the rational use of electricity, Cemig Project at the APACs forecasts the following Energy Efficiency Actions (EEA):

  • Replacement of the following equipment:
    • Inefficient light bulbs by light bulbs with LED technology;
    • Conventional showers by electronic showers;
    • Old refrigerators and freezers in poor condition by new and efficient equipment;
  • Installing a Photovoltaic System (PVS) with maximum power of up to 75 kWp;
  • Training of inmates from 26 APACs through three professional courses: The first of them is the “Notions of Building Electrical Installations” course, with a workload of 30 hours for 920 students; the second one is the “Building Electrical Installations” course, with a workload of 45 hours for 920 students; and the third one is the “Assembly and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Systems” course, with a workload of 40 hours for 624 students; the latter, besides including in the training structure a didactic kit for learning, requires as a prerequisite professional experience and/or basic knowledge in building electrical installations (the first two courses).

Public:  36 APACs (and their inmates), in addition to the Brazilian Fraternity of Assistance to the Convicted – FBAC (which has already received the replacement of its equipment).

Scope: All APACs within Cemig Distribution concession area.

Implementation: In progress, scheduled to be completed by 2021.
