Cemig has an Environmental Policy, published in 1990, in which there are seven principles that guide its activities and direct its efforts related to environmental protection and sustainable development. These principles are translated into actions that have the intention of raising awareness among employees and partners of the main environmental challenges facing Cemig and the world.
Cemig has identified the priority socio-environmental issues within its strategy by means of the Socio-environmental Adequacy Program. The actions are directed based on a decision matrix that takes into consideration the characteristics and risks related to the Company and the need to allocate resources. Periodically, this program is monitored by a committee that is composed of representatives from the Company’s executive offices.
