ENERGY ALTERNATIVES

Energy alternatives are a set of energy transformation technologies, sources and usages, which are characterized by their being non-traditional at this moment, besides being potentially sustainable, which translates into a low environmental impact, economic feasibility, social justice and cultural acceptance.

Cemig invests in projects aimed at using renewable energy sources, among which the most important are biomass, small hydroelectric plants, solar energy and wind farms. The Company also invests in projects directed at the rational usage of energy, cogeneration and distributed generation, using different fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas, alcohol and biodiesel.
