Cemig was selected as one of the best companies in the emerging market index by Vigeo-Eiris’ Emerging 70 Ranking, European expert that assesses the performance of companies, as per their practices in environmental, social and governance issues.

Emerging 70 Ranking composition brings together 70 companies from 15 countries that have achieved the highest scores, in a universe of 842 companies surveyed from 37 industries and 31 countries.

The ranking methodology was based on 38 criteria divided into 6 areas: environment, human rights, human resources, engagement with the community, responsible relationship with stakeholders and corporate governance.

Of the 70 companies selected to compose the index, only 4 are in the electricity sector, among which Cemig.
The selection process consists of Vigeo-Eiris inquiries to Cemig’s website and to the Sustainability Annual Report, as well as analysis of public disclosures about the company. The selected companies are re-evaluated every six months, in July and December.
