Maintaining quality while rendering services to its 5.6 million customers drawn from a population of 16 million scattered throughout over 5,400 localities in the 774 municipalities that comprise the State, is one of Cemig's most challenging tasks. This means operating a system with a 330-thousand-kilometer (206- thousand-mile) distribution network, Latin America's largest, in the most quality conscious fashion possible.

The constant search for new technologies, incentives for the decentralization of the company's sectors so as to maintain closer contact with the customers, and investments in the electrical system's maintenance and safety are the strategic tools Cemig employs to achieve that goal.

In the State capital and in the main cities of Minas Gerais, Cemig has established operational centers that, supported by modern and sophisticated equipment, manage the distribution network from a customer service point of view, be it by providing commercial information or by dispatching and performing the various maintenance services required on the system's network.
