Growing ornamental and fruit trees and plants in Igarapé

The Ramatis Scientific Group, in partnership with Asin Volunteers, has coordinated the creation of an orchard at the Triângulo Child and Adolescent Support Institute in Igarapé. The institute helps with the growth of plants of economic value in an area where protective shade and other necessary conditions for plant development are found. Cultivation techniques enable good production all year long. Both ornamental and fruit plants are commercialized and the revenues are used to maintain the Triângulo Institute. Children and adolescents at the Institute take part in the activities, which are oriented and developed pedagogically by specialized professionals. 60 children benefit from this project.
