Salto Grande Project
Under implementation since 1999, the project carries out activities aimed at contributing towards making improvements to the Ministro Lucas Lopes State School, located in the municipality of Braśnas. The school used to have a high number of dropouts and students suffered from nutritional deficits and low academic performance levels. The program promotes educational activities at the Study Center, whose facilities are among those that were made available to the State Secretary of Education by Cemig. The sports and recreational infrastructure provided by Vila de Salto Grande is used for educational activities. Asin Cemig coordinates the project in partnership with the Child and Adolescent Rights Council of Braśnas, the Braśnas City Hall, EMATER-MG, the Educational Council and AMO-MG Association of Ophthalmologists. The purpose of the project is to promote sustainable development through the setting of improved educational goals in schools, ensured access to healthcare and the development of cultural and artistic activities. 200 children and adolescents benefit from the program.
