Music & Citizenship – Children’s Choir in Governador Valadares
The Music & Citizenship project was created as a means of raising self-respect in the participants, who, with a healthy level of self-esteem, will have improved their prospects in life. As a universal language, music is a means through which participants can express their feelings and their view of the world and are, thus, able to construct their own life history. The project’s second objective is to help prevent children from getting involved with drugs, prostitution and theft by leading them through a dignified process of growth and development.
Benefiting from the project are 50 underprivileged children aged between 10 and 14.
