QUALITY CONTROL
 
The level of quality control exercised by Cemig in the goods and services provided by its suppliers varies according to the criticality of these goods and services.
 
Material to be used in the electrical system is subjected to inspection in which it is checked whether it meets the technical requirements explicit in Cemig's drawings and specifications or the Brazilian and international standards mentioned in the procurement documents. Depending on the type of material acquired, the inspection of the material is held at the premises of the supplier or in Cemig's laboratories. While conducting inspection at the supplier's premises, it is checked whether it continues to comply with the contractual provisions relating to quality, health and safety, environment and social responsibility.
 
The performance of the material suppliers is monitored through IDF Indicator - Supplier Performance Index.
 
Suppliers with low performance can be penalized through warnings, meetings, fines, cancellation of orders or termination of agreements, failure of approvals and administrative procedures for registration suspension, depending on the severity and recurrence of the events.  On the other hand, those material suppliers with excellent performance, can be dispensed from in-person inspections and carried out through reports analysis, being recognized in the Cemig Suppliers Award annual event or becoming suppliers with degree of Assured Supply of Material.
 
In the case of provision of services, the checking of whether there is compliance with Cemig requirements is performed by the agreement’s management area, through periodic assessments of the services provided, and checking whether the supplier continues to meet the other contractual requirements on safety, quality, health, safety, environment and social responsibility.
 
The implementation of works and services providers is monitored by IQSC indicator - Contracted Service Quality Index.
 
Suppliers with low performance can be penalized through warnings, meetings, fines, non-renewal or termination of agreements, depending on the severity and recurrence of the events.  On the other hand, those service providers with excellent performance can be recognized in the Cemig Suppliers Award annual event.
