Incentive programs for quality of living - Cemig
 
The permanent program to promote health, held by the company, is Energia Vital (Vital Energy), which has as its main goal to make employees aware of the importance of quality of living, both personal and at work.
 
Three of its subprograms encourage the practice of physical activities, especially by employees at risky functions and with health conditions that require special attention.
 
Among the actions of health, hygiene, and work safety, the promotion and prevention programs addressed to employees are highlighted:

2004
PROLONGAR – Program to Encourage Physical Activity
Encourages the practice of physical activities, reduces the number of sedentary employees, as well as offering co-participation in street foot race registrations, according to calendar published annually.
TFA
 PROCOHAR – Program for the Control of Arterial Hypertension
Monitors, guides, and encourages the practice of physical activities by employees with hypertension.
REPENSAR – Obesity Prevention Program
Guides employees about the risks of obesity, promoting weight control and changes in habits, thus reducing the number of employees with overweight or obesity, in addition to reducing the number of cases of occupational rehabilitation due to obesity.

Occupational Rehabilitation Program
It aims to redirect employees who had their working capacity reduced due to accident or illness, implying change of function. The program is developed in an integrated manner by the medical, psychological, social, and work safety areas, with subsequent approval by the INSS.

Personal and   Family Budget Planning Program
Through lectures, social assistance, and granting of loans, it aims to make employees aware of the importance of financial balance.

Social Intervention
It aims at guidance and coverage of costs with health treatments for employees injured at work and retired due to disability resulting from occupational accident or occupational disease.

On call service
On call service on weekends and holidays, in order to provide social services to employees who are victims of serious accidents and families of employees who have suffered fatal accidents, being work-related or not.

2005
Program for detecting early breast cancer
Through mammography and mastology evaluation, it aims the early detection of breast cancer in female workers.

Program for prevention of prostate cancer
Through PSA dosage and urologic evaluation, it aims the early detection of prostate cancer in male workers.
Program for detecting early bowel cancer
Screening conducted by occult blood test in feces. Employees with a positive result are oriented to undergone evaluation with specialist for investigation.
Program for detection of early dyslipidemia
Screening performed through laboratory tests, employees with dyslipidemia are instructed on proper control.
Program for detection of early diabetes
Screening performed through laboratory tests, employees with a change in blood glucose are instructed on proper control.
