โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹Cemig is the largest sponsor of cultural projects in Minas Gerais, according to data from the State Department of Culture and Tourism. 

CEMIG's objectives is through the strengthening of the company's brand and image in the market and in society, creating ways for it to be recognized as a company that is concerned with the preservation of the historical heritage of Minas Gerais. It is important to attract tourists from all parts of the world, which stimulate artistic expression, democratize the population's access to different types of cultural expressions, in addition to supporting social development in the locations where it operates.

By promoting culture, Cemig generates leisure opportunities, values regional culture and historical and cultural heritage, as well as the formation of strategic partnerships that foster good relationships with stakeholders, which is essential in developing countries such as Brazil  In 2019 about 3.5 million people impacted by the projects, in approximately 80 locations, inside and outside the State of Minas Gerais.   

In 2019, Sponsorships focused on the maintenance of theaters and museums, with investments in security in more than 60 institutions and listed properties and the opening of a new Cemig SESI Energy Efficiency Space in partnership with the Museum of Arts and Crafts, with the theme of narrating the history of the energy and energy sources of the future - the so-called "clean energies" - in an interactive and playful way
